The Founding Story

Born from a question no one was answering.

"Why does eating well in India mean choosing between taste, tradition, and trust?"

Kenkou began not in a boardroom but in a kitchen — with four people who shared a conviction. Aakanksha, who spent years watching wellness brands overpromise and underdeliver. Her mother Soniya, who had spent three decades mastering the craft of making food the right way. Ritu, who understood both the science of nutrition and the power of technology to personalise it. And Ram Baboo, whose decades of financial leadership would give the vision the discipline it needed to scale. Four complementary perspectives. One shared frustration with what Indian nutrition had become.

Together they built Kenkou to be different in every way that mattered: formulated for outcomes, manufactured without compromise, and sold with a transparency that the Indian food industry rarely shows. The name itself — Kenkou, Japanese for health — is a reminder that the pursuit of true nourishment is universal, even when the ingredients are proudly Indian.

Aakanksha drives the customer experience, brand narrative, and day-to-day operations at Kenkou. She built the brand from the ground up with a conviction that wellness marketing in India had to become more honest — and that the best way to prove it was to make products that spoke for themselves. Ten years across FMCG, D2C, and functional nutrition shaped her belief that India deserved a nutrition brand built on transparency, not promises.
