The gut-anxiety connection
The gut produces approximately 90 percent of the body's serotonin and is in direct communication with the brain through the vagus nerve. Gut dysbiosis, the imbalance of gut bacteria produced by poor diet, chronic stress, and antibiotic overuse, disrupts serotonin production and activates inflammatory pathways that worsen anxiety.
